Admission Criteria

Applicants to Foundation Academy must meet the following minimum admissions criteria. These standards serve as an important starting point in the admissions process; however, meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee enrollment. As Foundation Academy continues to experience record enrollment and a high volume of applications, it creates a highly competitive applicant pool.

Students and families applying to Foundation Academy should demonstrate the following:

  1. A clear willingness to support and uphold Foundation Academy’s mission, values, and philosophy as a Christian school.
  2. A history of acceptable conduct and positive behavior, as reflected in school records and teacher evaluations. Applicants should not have a history of significant disciplinary concerns, including suspensions, expulsions, or ongoing behavioral issues.
  3. Consistent academic performance with evidence of readiness for the academic expectations of Foundation Academy. Report Cards should reflect A’s and B’s OR equivalent with no failing marks or indicators of academic difficulty areas. Grades of D, F, U, N, or their equivalent will generally not be considered acceptable.
  4. Students applying to grades 6–12 must maintain a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0 both overall and in each core academic subject area, including Math, Science, English, and History/Social Studies.
  5. Applicants must show readiness through testing in Math and Reading/Language Arts. This means a 3 or higher on end of year FL FAST tests and/or EOC) or proficiency at the 50th percentile or higher on nationally normed standardized testing and be on or above grade level.
  6. A satisfactory attendance record, typically with no more than 10 absences within a semester, unless documented circumstances or hardships are present.
  7. Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English to successfully engage in classroom instruction and academic expectations.
  8. Students with an IEP, 504 Plan, or other accommodation plan are welcome to apply and must meet Foundation Academy’s admissions standards. Admission decisions are made after careful consideration of whether the school can appropriately support the student’s academic, emotional, medical, and behavioral needs within the resources available. In some cases, enrollment in an educational support program may be required at an additional cost.
